WSOD (what should Obama do?)

We've all heard the phrase, "What Would Jesus Do?" have we not? Well, I was thinking, that on this blog, whenever the mood strikes, I will have a commentary on the incoming Administration, and the things that have been done over the past eight years that will need to be undone. I call it What Should Obama Do? Instead of WWJD? it'll be WSOD?

The first and foremost of course is to address the economy. I have only a hazy grasp of how we came to be in this biggest of all messes, and an even less clear idea of how to get out of it, but Obama has already begun to do what he SHOULD, and that is to assemble a team of economic advisers who can determine the issues and make suggestions on how to walk the country back from the very high precipice on which we find ourselves. Our new leader, being a highly educated, brilliant and erudite individual, should have the wherewithal to place other brilliant, highly educated individuals on his team, and that is hopefully the first step toward the reversal of our economic meltdown. His cabinet and advisory picks so far give me hope that when Obama is finally sworn in, he will be able to hit the ground running, and begin to fix what the Bush administration has left broken and dismantled in it's wake.

In the future, I'll cover torture, Guantanamo, Iraq and Afghanistan, illegal spying on American citizens, outing CIA agents, placing partisan hacks in public service positions, NCLB, refusal to comply with congressional subpoenas, the departments of Justice, State, Treasury, Defense, etc., presidential appointments to various departments, and so much more.

I remind you though, Maurice Hultt said this..."Things almost always turn out other than one anticipates."
